Vocal Success!

Over the weekend, the Valdosta Academy of Arts took two voice students to compete at the Southeastern Region National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) conference. Held at Auburn University, the conference hosted voice teachers and their students from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.

Autumn & Lawson place 3rd at SERNATS 2018

VAPA students, Lawson Cribb and Autumn Wibright, study voice with Dr. Jennifer McQuade. Each placed 3rd in the FINALS of their respective categories of this 2-day competition! Lawson placed 3rd in Upper Level Musical Theatre Women while Autumn placed 3rd in Upper Level Classical Women. As a result, they have been invited to compete at the National NATS conference in Las Vegas this summer, against all of the other regional winners in their respective categories.

Lawson and Autumn worked incredibly hard to accomplish this honor and were brought through an intensely rigorous judging process. Both are juniors at Lowndes High School and plan to pursue music as a career upon high school graduation.

Join us in congratulating these two VAPA students!
